Dolen Dewi Community Association Presents:

FILMs at the Church Hall, Capel Dewi

Doors open at 7pm. Start at 7.30pm. Adults: £3.50 Children under 16: £1.50. (suggested donation towards the Hall for costs etc).  Free interval refreshments.

Tuesday 20th September

“Dad’s Army” The very funny, affectionate and well-crafted homage to the legendary old favourite series.

Friday 28th October (Half Term)

“The Jungle Book” Time for another of our famous “Family Feast and Film” evenings.  Doors open at 6pm for a meal and eagerly awaited film.

Tuesday 15th November

“Shoulder Arms” (1918) Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp gets involved in the war. 

After the interval “My boy Jack” The traffic story of how Rudyard Kipling’s only son was killed in the trenches. Daniel Radcliffe plays Jack.

Wednesday 30th November at the Porth Hotel, Llandysul Special event in conjunction with Llandysul and District Local History Society

“The Battle of the Somme” (1916)

One hundred years ago this actual film was presented to a stunned public at the Porth Hotel in Llandysul as we mark the occasion this evening at the same venue.  The film has been restored by the Imperial War Museum.  In 1916 more than 20 million people saw it.

“A Royal Night Out”

VE Day 1945, London overflows with enormous celebrating crowds.  Two young girls persuade their father to let them out from their home to join in the fun.  Their home was Buckingham Palace!  Based on the true event concerning the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret.
