APPOINTMENT SURGERY: Each doctor has occasional appointment sessions.
Appointments are available from reception.
HOME VISITS: These are for people too ill or disable
to attend the surgery. If possible, please request a visit before 10am,
before the doctor begins his rounds. Be prepared to give our staff some
idea of your symptoms so that we can judge the urgency of each call while
planning the round.
CALLS OUTSIDE SURGERY HOURS: Telephone the surgery
number (01559 362221).
We
use the GP Co-op Teifidoc between the hours of 6.30pm-8am. At other times when
the surgery is closed we share an out-of-hours rota with Llynyfran Surgery.
TELEPHONE QUERIES: Any non-urgent telephone calls
to the surgery should be made in the afternoon when the receptionist
will have more time to deal with your query.
TEST RESULTS: You are required to telephone the
surgery for your results. Please telephone after 2pm, as all results
have to be assessed by the doctors. The receptionist will confirm results
to patients or indicate if there is a need to see a doctor.
TRAVEL VACCINATIONS: Please telephone the surgery
to discuss travel vaccinations, if possible, at least 8 weeks before
departure. Some vaccinations are not covered by the NHS and you may be
asked to pay a fee. A list of these is available at reception.
THE PRACTICE TEAM
Practice Manager - Mrs Myra Clark
Her job is to manage all aspects of running the practice and deal with
any problems that arise on a day to day basis.
Practice Nursing Team
Our nursing team is led by Sister Neris Davies. The 2 practice nurses
are available for dressings, immunisations, removal of stitches etc. They
work to appointments only. We also employ 2 healthcare assistants to undertake
phlebotomy, check blood pressure etc, and assist with clinics.
Receptionist/Administration Staff are here to help you. Please try
to give them all the information they require.
It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patient records is maintained
by all staff.
ATTACHED STAFF
District Nurses provide nursing care to patients in their own home (01559
362996).
Health Visitors are involved with child health and health education
(01559 362120).
Community Psychiatric Nurse provides help with mental health problems
(01559 362875).
OTHER IN-HOUSE SERVICES
Citizens Advice Bureau. Weekly clinic.To make an appointment please telephone
01239 613707. You can also ask your nurse or doctor to refer you.
Ceredigion Access: An advisor is available alternate Monday afternoons
for advice and help. Please telephone 01545 571888.
CLINICS
Antenatal Clinic - Tuesday 1.30pm-2.30pm.
Run by a Doctor and the midwives. Appointments are given, but you
are welcome to come to the clinic anytime for reassurance.
Well Woman Clinic - Tuesday 3.30pm-5.30pm.
Held by Dr Katharine Gordon, this clinic is available to all women for
general health check-ups and cervical smears. Appointment only.
Family Planning & HRT Clinic - Tuesday 5.30pm-6.30pm.
Held by Dr Katharine Gordon. A full range of service and follow-up is
available. No appointment is necessary.
Asthma Clinic.
Run by Sister Neris Davies and Dr Jay. Patients will be invited to attend,
but you can also telephone the surgery to book an appointment if required.
Diabetic Clinic.
Run by Dr Roberts and the diabetic sister. Please see the practice nurse
to arrange an appointment. We see diabetics for regular review.
Well Baby Clinic - Thursday 1.30-3pm.
Held by Dr Jay and the Health Visitors. No appointment is necessary and
children under five are welcome for development screening, immunisation
and general advice. Please do not bring children to the clinic when they
are ill.
Baby Clinic / Post Natal Support Group - Wednesday 1.30pm-3pm.
Run by the Health Visitors to promote parenting skills and to provide
support for all mothers with children under 5. No appointment necessary.
Hypertension Clinic.
Run by the practice nurses. Patients will be invited to attend.
Rheumatoid Clinic.
Run by Dr Jones and Sister Neris Davies. Patients will be invited to
attend.
NON-NHS EXAMINATIONS AND FORMS:
These are not covered by the NHS and you will be asked to pay a fee.

COMPLAINTS
We hope you are happy with the standard of service we provide, but if
you have any suggestions or complaints, please contact the practice
manager. We have a practice complaints procedure which deals with
complaints about the service we provide. A leaflet explaining the procedure
is available from reception.
