More about Llandysul and Pont Tyweli

Nestling on the banks of the river Teifi, Llandysul and Pont Tyweli is a traditional unspoilt small market town.

Built around its ancient church, a large proportion is now quite rightly a conservation area.

Standing on one of the finest fishing rivers in Wales, it is famous for its salmon and sewin (sea trout) as well as for its white water canoeing.

Before the days of electricity, the rushing rivers of the Teifi and its tributaries drove many waterwheels in the area and Llandysul was no exception. Whilst none still operate commercially, several buildings can be recognised as former mills.

Llandysul and Pont Tyweli are ideally situated for exploring the varied and beautiful counties of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and the Brecon Beacons. They are almost equidistant from the larger towns of Cardigan, Carmarthen and Lampeter.

Whilst it is an excellent centre for walkers and cyclists, it also has all the major banks and an exciting array of shops.

In other words, it is well worth a visit !
